Sign maintenance company Xmo Strata has been working with global engineering company ABB to create a safer means of valeting fuel forecourts. In accordance with the Working at Height Regulations 2005, the two companies have managed to minimise the need for working above ground level during a complex nationwide cleaning programme on 88 Esso 'On the Run' sites.

New car buyers are opting for greener vehicles, according to a survey by car supermarket Motorpoint. Three out of five people signing up for 08-registration cars are opting to drive away in a vehicle boasting lower carbon emissions than their previous car.

Jet-branded Salterton Road Service Station in Exmouth has been bought by Kent retailer Jey Selvaratnum. The site on the busy B3178, which has a 525sq ft Spar store, was sold by Bill Wentworth through Christie + Co.
