Police are appealing for information after a robbery at Firtree filling station in Crook, County Durham.

At just before 8pm on October 19 three men walked into the petrol station and demanded the keys to the safe from the cashier.

The cashier gave the men the keys and the men made off with a significant sum of cash. The cashier was left shaken by the incident but otherwise unharmed.

One of the men was described as wearing a blue boiler suit with the other two wearing camouflage clothing. All three men had their faces covered.

Detective sergeant Peter Lonsdale from Crook CID said: “I am keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time mentioned, or anyone who knows the identity of any of the three men. This was clearly a very upsetting incident for the cashier and with this in mind I would urge anyone with information to contact police.”

Police can be contacted on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
